Job description

Tending 2 U LLC is seeking part-time servers to join our team. Our primary types of events include weddings, birthday parties, anniversary dinners, corporate meetings, and other small-to-large scale events. Servers are responsible for five-star table service, event setup, light food prep, and post-event cleanup. No experience is needed.

What does a mobile server do?

Staff who serve food and beverages at large catering events. Servers keep drinks filled, remove each round of plates before the next course and answer questions from guests. Some servers take food and beverage orders for each table if there are menu items for guests to choose from, rather than pre-chosen dishes. Other duties include:

Prepare event spaces by setting tables with tablecloths and place settings, setting up buffets, and removing all service items like extra glassware and service utensils

Carry large trays or multiple plates of hot food to serve guests

Refill beverages as needed, remove each course of dinnerware, and replenish flatware as needed

Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness and wash hands frequently to avoid cross-contamination

Perform post-event cleaning tasks and breakdown of service

Adhere to grooming and uniform standards

Training

For training, many servers learn the specific methods and techniques related to their role while on the job. This training may be part of the orientation process of the company and may last several weeks. Training often includes shadowing current servers and performing duties under supervision until they are comfortable enough to complete tasks on their own.

Servers with previous relevant experience may transfer skills such as customer service, organization, and time management to work.

Servers require certain hard and soft skills to succeed in an event setting. Some skills include:

Organization: This involves creating efficient ways to complete tasks on time and to the satisfaction of clients and guests.

Customer Service: This important skill involves patience, courteousness, and knowledge to respectfully communicate with guests and colleagues. Explaining meal ingredients, communicating allergy information, and answering questions are all instrumental in providing excellent customer service.

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Morning shift
• Night shift

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekends
• Weekend availability
