SEP ED Records Coordinator
LOCATION: Bravera Health Brooksville/Spring OR Bravera Health Citrus Hills/Seven Rivers
DEPARTMENT: EMERGENCY SERVICES
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fulltime
The Emergency Department Records Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with the billing company on the reconciliation of daily patient records to the Emergency Department log, conducting a detailed review of provider documentation for deficiencies and presenting these deficiencies to the respective providers for education and feedback. He/she will report directly to the Practice Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
· Establish a positive working relationship with the Emergency Department Medical Director/Lead Nurse Practitioner, ED Nurse Director and Medical Records personnel
· Review patient records on a daily basis for documentation completion, to include the necessary elements for coding and billing
· Acts as the liaison between billing company and providers- Communicate documentation deficiencies to providers for their review and completion
· Monitor billing company website daily for missing charts or chart elements to include: charts not received, missing provider or nursing notes, missing code blue notes/response to the floor notes
· Search for and send to billing company missing charts or chart elements
· Report to Emergency Department Medical Director, any trends with provider deficiencies
- Sorts and distributes provider mail
- Collects and faxes/e-mail Code Blue responses
- Assists and completes any other duties assigned by the Practice Manager & Medical Director as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- College degree preferred
Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and have exceptional attention to detail
- Able to self-motivate/self-direct
- Medical Terminology knowledge
- Medical Coding and billing knowledge
Work Location
This work will primarily be at an office at either Brooksville or Seven Rivers with travel to other facilities from time to time.
Physical requirements
· Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
· The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
