Job description
Jacobs is searching for an experienced Systems Administrator to work with our customer supporting critical networks for an entire Division in Huntsville, AL! This work requires to be 2 days onsite a week and will expose the candidate to various technologies that the Bureau uses to process evidence and material from criminal cases and catch the wrongdoers that keep our nation safe.
Responsibilities:
- Desktop, application, and interface support and administration.
- Responsible for responding to a variety of system administration related requests.
- Manages software desktops.
- Installation/configuration, operations and maintenance of system hardware and software related to infrastructure.
- Assist with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of laptops/desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
- Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems.
- Maintain user accounts.
- Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
- Perform server administration.
- Perform patch maintenance.
- Knowledge of Windows server, Exchange/Outlook, TCP/IP and various internet servers (DNS, NAT, IPSec, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, SNMP).
- Administer SharePoint environment for the program.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large local area network environment performing hardware and software installation, testing, and operation; experience with Windows Server administration; experience managing virtual environments; knowledge of the principles of routing, firewalls, and client/server applications; experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution principles, methodologies, and techniques.
Active Top Secret Clearance
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Administration of Dell equipment (servers, switches, appliances)
- Citrix virtualization
- Windows servers and workstations (WSUS)
- iOS workstations
