SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure Shilo, customer, and vendor privacy is respected and confidential
- Manage the corporate Sage General Ledger system and coding for general ledger entry.
- Oversee the resolution of complex computer problems resulting from new transactions and system errors.
- Assist in the review of invoices submitted by the Accounts Payable and General Ledger Departments for data entry by reviewing the completeness of departmental approvals, complete descriptions and assigned vendor codes.
- Assist in the verification of cash requirement reporting.
- Assist in the coverage (vacation, sick, other leave) for all accounting functions.
- Insure the proper recording for all mortgage, billboards, and other long term contract payments.
- Routinely perform periodic audits to ensure that invoices have been processed accurately and recorded properly in the Sage accounting system.
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
- Ensure data accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing and prepare month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Communicate with outside entities including customers, vendors, and banks.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement in the Sage accounting system.
The minimum qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant position are:
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must have experience in computer systems operation.
- Must have experience in Sage Accounting System and coding for general ledger entry
- Must be able to use word processor and basic office equipment.
- Must be able to operate ten key by touch.
- Must have leadership skills.
Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years of Account GL work experience.
- Associates degree in accounting school with equivalent experience; additional education is a plus
- Ability to organize, coordinate, multi-task, and complete work accurately while meeting deadlines
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team
- Develops and maintains positive business relationships with internal customers and external contacts
