Southwestern Power Administration, an agency within the Department of Energy, contracts with Wyandotte Nation’s Wyandotte Technologies for services support. Wyandotte Technologies has a long-term opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer at Southwestern Power Administration’s Springfield, Missouri facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide programming support, enhancement and testing on custom developed applications
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies for service delivery and improvement
  • Web development and support
  • Database development and support
  • Assist System Administrators with deployment of first party applications
  • Work with Network Administrators to ensure seamless deployment of applications into highly access restricted environments
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and recommend preventative measures
  • Must have excellent comprehension of and adherence to processes and procedures related to the software development lifecycle
  • Must have excellent communication skills and follow through with clients and team members
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work well both independently and with a team of developers as project planning requires

Education Requirements:

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science (or similar) and 5+ years of experience in Software Development OR;

· 8+ years of experience in Software Development

  • Experience with the following technologies and concepts are a plus
  • C#, .NET, JavaScript, Visual Studio, C++, Python, Relational Databases, Web Development (WAMP), Splunk, ServiceNow, modern version control (Mercurial, Git, TFS), SCADA, DevOps

Job Requirements:

  • Some work may include evening and/or weekend hours
  • Assist with a 24/7 on call rotation to support real-time SCADA operations
  • Some travel may be required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
