The IT Services Division is searching for a talented Software Engineer II candidate to join the Development Operations team.
This position is remote optional but requires residency in Idaho. If relocating to Idaho, the Department of Health & Welfare does not reimburse the cost of relocating. The department does not sponsor anyone with a work visa.

- Works effectively with business partners to understand and explain business and technical issues.
- Creates information architecture reports, including site maps, flow charts, and functional and presentation specifications, assesses different architectural options and recommends an approach.
- Participates in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards and the design of standard configuration, balancing the competing needs of standardization and innovation.
- Develops code to add functionality of new or existing systems.
- May provide leadership in the design, development, implementation, and support of software on an agency-wide level.
Good knowledge of software architecture, development, and testing practices.- Good knowledge of programming languages, software development tool suites and managing source code.
- Experience creating, interpreting, and documenting user requirements.
- Experience coding new systems and making code changes to existing production systems.
- Experience testing and deploying production systems.
Experience using MVS Job Control Language. Gained by at least three years of experience writing and maintaining mainframe JC.- Experience coding and maintaining Computer Associates ESP Job Scheduling software. Gained by at least three years of experience creating and maintaining job schedule.
- Experience coding and maintaining Computer Associates Workload Automation Scheduling software. Gained by at least three years of experience creating and maintaining job schedule.
- Experience validating and troubleshooting QA processes and implementations in a Windows, Linux and/or mainframe environment. Gained by at least two years of experience validating, executing, and troubleshooting test and production implementations.
