Senior Residential Audio Visual Technician
Job description
We have current openings for experienced Senior Audio Visual Field Technicians in our Dallas, TX office. These positions will be able to complete technical installations of audio-visual systems including all projectors, calibrate audio/video systems, and implement and commission enterprise networks and Control 4 control systems. They require the ability to troubleshoot audio, video, and control systems problems. Home theater, network installation, or other low voltage installations, and/or factory-service training/certification on any major brand of projectors or AV components is a PLUS.

They can teach the Level 1 & 2 techs how to install and program the systems we design and install. A Level 3 Tech can take a system from sales and concept to implementation. They can recognize mistakes or flaws in a design and suggest corrections. They can independently troubleshoot existing and new systems. They can effectively communicate with clients on a daily basis to solve their needs and complete tasks assigned to them
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Proficiency in installing complex systems, installing projection & audio systems, networking, security and surveillance systems, and some light control system programming experience.
- Proficiency in wire and rack management.
- Experience with construction and design/build industry.
- Capability to work in an active, fast-paced environment, which requires a high-energy, self-motivated individual with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts, technologies, and installation methods.
- Attention to detail, job-site cleanliness, and safety.
- A clean criminal background and driving record will be confirmed.
- CEDIA Level I or II Installer certification is preferred.
- Travel 10 - 15% of the time.
- Interface with external/internal clients and manufacturing vendors
- Pre-installation site survey when needed
- Fabricate racks in-house or onsite at the client location
- Rigging/mounting of equipment and displays
- Installation of structured cabling to include pulling, terminating, and testing cat5e/6, video, RGB, HDMI, DVI, and audio cables
- Installation of all AV equipment including: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, and all presentation systems
- Responsible for signing out and securing inventory and non-inventory consumables per project
- Restocking and inventory of van equipment/consumables daily
- Identify and solve issues that will impact the project
- Provide effective communication by supplying daily updates to project managers
- Ensure that project deliverables and milestones are met including close out documentation and punch list items
- Perform quality control check on finished product/projects
- Post project walkthrough with client if needed
- Responsible for returning product to warehouse and inventory DOA
- Support technicians with onsite training endeavors
- Communicate with project managers on personnel performance issues
- Attend construction meetings in place of project managers/designers when needed
- Follow all safety guidelines of Data Projections and client requirements
Qualifications
- 10 years or more of verifiable experience as a full-time residential Audio-Visual Senior-Level Technician.
- Minimum 5 years of Network engineering experience
- Minimum 5 years Control 4 knowledge and experience
- Control 4 Lighting
- Lutron Caseta, Ra2, Ra3
- Sonos
- URC Total Control
- 10 Years of a security background
- Knowledge of all Residential AV equipment
- Great ability to troubleshoot Networks and AV equipment
- Ability to think and work independently
- Impeccable wiring and termination skills as well as proper installation techniques of all AV equipment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience in reading/understanding architecture, electrical, structural & AV systems drawings
- A teachable disposition and a willing attitude toward continuing education
- Flexibility to work outside the job description when the need arises
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Experience in managing crews and the ability to work independently
- Analytical and problem-solving/troubleshooting
- Deductive reasoning skills
- PC and Network knowledge
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer)
- Strong leadership abilities
- Self-starter with keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Possible out-of-town projects requiring hotel/multiple overnight trips
- Ability to work day, evening, or weekend shifts
- Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment screenings
- Travel 10 - 15% of the time.
Physical Demands
- Sitting, standing, stooping, and bending for long or extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and power tools and to handle other office equipment.
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to climb a ladder, scaffolding, or be transported by lifts.
- Ability to drive/operate a vehicle.
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities daily/weekly/monthly may occur for short periods of time in a seasonal temperature-fluctuating environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
