Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Real-World Evidence (RWE) team as either a Research Scientist or Senior Research Scientist, pending on experience. This role will primarily focus on the delivery of client projects, such as retrospective and prospective epidemiological studies, including but not limited to, database studies, chart review studies, and primary data collection studies (e.g., pragmatic trials and registry-based studies). A secondary focus will be participation in the Lumen Evidence Synthesis Lab, where we conduct systematic literature reviews using an Artificial Intelligence aided methodology. Our clients and projects span several different Global markets including the EU and US, as well as emerging markets. The ideal candidate has experience in and is passionate about multiple aspects of RWE and is excited about the opportunity to grow with the team.

We offer flexibility to work remotely while obtaining experience in the Global, EU, and US markets.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting or leading the development of RWE projects, as part of the project team, including:
    • Ideation of projects to fulfil client needs
    • Designing retrospective and/or prospective observational studies
    • Development of study protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs)
    • Conducting epidemiological and statistical analysis
    • Preparation of client reports and other deliverables
  • Assisting or leading in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, and oral presentation for submission to scientific journals and/or professional congresses
  • Communicate with clients on projects and foster relationships
  • Training/mentoring junior team members
  • Propose and lead, or participate in, thought leadership initiatives
  • Assisting or leading in the development of project proposals
  • Participate in pitches and client presentations
  • Business development and line management responsibilities can be discussed

Required expertise and experience:
  • MPH, MSc or PhD (or an equivalent degree) in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate work experience (6+ years with MPH or MSc, 3+ years with PhD) in real-world evidence (consulting or pharmaceutical industry)
  • Substantial experience in leading RWE projects (e.g., database studies, observational studies), including all steps from conceptualization to reporting
  • Experience in analysing individual patient data, such as clinical trial data and real-world data
  • Proficient in data management and analysis using SAS, R, and/or Python
  • Experience in developing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to document own work
  • Full working proficiency in English
Preferable expertise and experience:
  • Experience in primary data collection studies (e.g., chart review, registry development, prospective observational studies)
  • Experience in leading project-specific research teams
  • Experience in writing client proposals and developing project budgets
  • Experience in presenting at international conferences

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000. This range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an HCG Agency in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
