Summary:

This is a key role for the organization and is open due to a retirement. This person will be responsible for purchasing, sourcing and managing all raw ingredients and commodities

Responsibilities:
Develop and manage strategic sourcing strategy and procurement activities, including optimal pricing and supplier negotiations across product categories

Manage, direct and supervise five direct reports for the Commodity Purchasing Department.

Provide leadership that promotes positive and effective interdepartmental interactions.

Procure, source and manage $100 MM worth of ingredients and raw materials used for all operations in North America

Interface and partner with Executives on key company initiatives and strategic objectives.

Establish and maintain strategic business relationships with senior executives at key supplier and distributor business partners.

Ensure that department priorities and resources are effectively managed and deployed to meet deadlines and commitments to other stakeholders.

Requirements:
BS/BA from an accredited 4-year university required; prefer a Master's/MBA and or CPM/CPIM certification i

Prior experience working in high level purchasing situations and coordinating the delivery of supplies is necessary

8+ years of purchasing knowledge of raw ingredients / commodities and materials in the food manufacturing Industry.

Able to track/analyze markets and hedge commodities experience required; specifically, with sugar, oils, spices, corn, wheat and other ingredients used in food manufacturing

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH SUGAR, CORN SYRUP OR OTHER SWEETENERS

Purchasing leadership with the ability to hire, train, discipline and coach employees properly

Versed in using various ERP systems and MS office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word)

Packaging procurement/sourcing experience specifically with films, trays, flexible packaging or corrugated is a plus
