Position Summary

The Senior Programs Director oversees and is responsible for membership retention, program growth, facility and risk management at the Newman YMCA branch. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch through the effective management of program directors and facility managers. This position works in coordination with the Senior Director of Dance as well as department coordinators to maximize scheduling opportunities and member participation and engagement within the facility.

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Essential Duties

  • Coordinate efforts at the Newman YMCA in collaboration with on-site senior program manager(s)
  • Membership Retention: Overall responsibility for retention of new and existing memberships. Manage, assess, track and improve the Retention Process. Oversee data capture, data analysis, and retention improvement.
  • Financial Management: Increase Membership Retention to meet branch retention goals. Develop and manage Branch Operations budget in accordance with association guidelines and practices.
  • Volunteer Development and Management: Implement comprehensive Volunteer program within the branch
  • Program Growth and Expansion: Overall responsibility for creation and maintenance of programs to increase member enrollment and generate increased program revenue.
  • Monitor program engagement, participation and schedule to maximize participation and leverage membership opportunities to build engagement and participation in branch activities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Dance to oversee the branch budget and maximize revenue while limiting expenses to create a financially sound operating premise
  • Schedule work and availability with some overlapping time with the Senior Director of Dance as well as provide coverage and oversight during the opposing time periods from the Senior Director of Dance position
  • Working with the Senior Director of Dance to collaborate and provide building and program coverage as needed to allow participation in the overall Association-wide initiatives
  • Responsible for collaborating with the branch leadership team to identify additional, new revenue opportunities.
  • Expand on our existing OST and aquatics programs.

Other Duties as assigned, including but not limited to:

  • Relationship Building: Troubleshoot/resolve member issues in a professional manner. Establish relationships with potential/existing members/program participants.
  • Risk Management and Safety: Overall responsibility for risk management and safety practices of the branch.
  • Resource Development: Sponsoring Special Events; Supporting the Annual Campaign;
  • Overseeing all branch management activities in coordination with the Senior Director of Dance at Newman

Qualifications

  • Management/Leadership experience mandatory with a minimum of 3-5 years required.
  • Three to five years of customer service experience desirable.
  • Prior Y experience and familiarity and training in Listen First and Supporting Change and Building Communities would be preferable.
  • Outstanding communications skills and analytical planning abilities are necessary in this position.
