Job Description

This position is US corporate position responsible supporting the URO/GYN business unit focusing on strategic oversight and execution of reimbursement activities related primarily to iTind coding, payment and coverage trends with direct support of upstream and downstream initiatives in the URO/GYN BU. The candidate will provide strategic guidance to internal business units about reimbursement challenges and opportunities and working on potential reimbursement pathways to secure or optimize reimbursement. This person will also assist in the development of tools and programs to educate customer and expand US market access by means of reimbursement and implementation of market access strategies.

Job Duties

  • Strategic oversight and analysis of US reimbursement trends including CMS policy, coding changes, payment amounts and coverage status, primarily for iTind.
  • Execution of reimbursement and market access plan primarily for iTind, or other Olympus products, as assigned.
  • Coordinate response to CMS on all reimbursement matters impacting Olympus products.
  • Work to secure national facility reimbursement including new reimbursement submission new Tech APC or pass through submissions.
  • Assist in the development of CPT coding strategy for new products, handling CPT coding submission or revisions. Working in close contact with professional societies regarding submission needs.
  • Ability to lead professional society engagement related to coding, reimbursement, payer engagement for Olympus products.
  • Educate team on reimbursement and coding submission requirements for each coding or reimbursement pathway. Evaluate reimbursement pathway strategy likelihood of success and investment and critical path timelines.
  • Provide strategic oversight into field based reimbursement hotline and other programs that support Olympus customers in the area of reimbursement and market access Monitor implementation of these programs and suggest refinements.
  • Support new business development and acquisitions related to reimbursement and market access.
  • Oversee the development of reimbursement collateral materials to support customers and field reimbursement manager team.
  • Provide strategic guidance to each business unit regarding evolving reimbursement trends and implications.
  • Analyze secondary data from for both Medicare and commercial payers related to reimbursement and trends.
  • Oversee the development of US payer market research for iTind or other assigned products.
  • Provide US reimbursement education to upstream and downstream marketing so they may have a foundation for reimbursement to guide their decision-making.
  • Establish 3rd party advocacy efforts to support reimbursement with national HTA bodies, guidelines committees and national policy organizations, as directed.
  • Work with Olympus medical affairs to support the inclusion of Olympus products into society practice guidelines or government issued guidelines and standard of care.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and a concentration in health policy or business is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge of US reimbursement system: reimbursement, coding, billing and market access, policy and trends;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in working with medical device company, pharma and/or healthcare consulting to support reimbursement and market access initiatives
  • Project management experience
  • 25% travel on a monthly basis may be required


Preferred:

  • Preference for candidate having relevant reimbursement and health policy experience
  • Proficiency in Office 365 Products
  • Ability to distill complex regulations and trends into a simple message for internal and external customers
  • Strong competitor knowledge of procedure and reimbursement implications\
