Coordinates and directs the activities of the composting staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:


60% - Essential - Plans, organizes and prioritizes work activities. Assigns tasks to workers and allocates equipment and materials to accomplish tasks for composting collections and processing.

20% - Essential - Oversees training of new and existing staff. Ensures subordinates understand and are able to operate equipment. Ensure all staff members have proper PPE and have completed all safety and training procedures.

15% - Essential - Communicates expectations and standards of performance to workers and reviews work to ensure that it was done properly.

5% - Essential - Continued Education and Training for Composting Field.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A high school diploma and custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance experience directly related to the area of employment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Education - Associate's Degree
Work Experience: 2+ years in management.
Licenses - Driver's License Class D normal < 26,000; Driver's License Class B CDL.

Acts as Lead - Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

WORK SCHEDULE:


Work scheduled Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm occasional inclement weather. Standard Hours: 40
Expected Salary Range: ($ 32,000.00 - $ 47,000.00)

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL


Essential Level 1 employee

Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
