Job description

The Senior Benefits Representative becomes an expert in the organization's evolving benefits packages, assists employees with benefit enrollment needs, reconciles monthly insurance statements, provides education regarding resources and services available to employees, and recommends plan changes.


  • Become an expert in the organizations current and changing benefit packages
  • Develop record keeping system for benefit records
  • Reconcile and process monthly insurance vendor statements
  • Lead the promotion, preparation, and presentation of the yearly organizational open enrollment
  • Assist with training and mentoring new hire Benefits team members
  • Provide new employees with an explanation of benefits, provide instructions on enrollment fulfillment procedures, and effectively resolve benefit related issues in a timely manner
  • Manage auditor requests including yearly 401K audit process
  • Organize benefit campaigns, maintain vendor relationships, oversee enrollment processes, and recommend potential plan improvements
  • Monitor the employee tuition reimbursement benefit process
  • Schedule and participate in benefit events and trainings (i.e. open enrollment, 401K, and newly implemented programs)
  • Process Medical Support Orders when necessary
  • Provide ongoing support for benefits and Human Resources (HR) teams
  • Review all forms for accuracy
  • Maintain compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in HR, benefits experience preferred
  • English speaker required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong public speaker, must be comfortable presenting information to groups of employees or management in a learning environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, can interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 application suite
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Advanced time management skills, able to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess strong math skills
  • Able to multitask successfully and effectively
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
