Job Title: Screener

The Screener is responsible for welcoming guests in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner and following all Covid Screening protocols as required.
If applies to your responsibility, the Messenger portion of the job description is responsible to deliver various items, via automobile, to our Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island sites from Greenlawn, our main location, to Commack and Nesconset along with other local stops as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Picks up and delivers laboratory specimens, internal and external correspondence, payments, packages and other items to/from the various sites of Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island, other business establishments such as nearby hospital, bank and post office.
• Signs for items received and delivered.
• Ensures automobile is in good working order to perform duties.
• Greets every internal and external guest immediately upon entry and departure of a facility.
• Personally escorts patients/visitors as needed throughout the facility enhancing satisfaction and efficiency by opening doors, offering wheelchair assistance, guidance.
• Maintains the cleanliness, comfort, and overall appearance of wheelchairs and assigned area.
• Responds to patient/visitor inquiries and concerns promptly and with courtesy.
• Builds relationships by engaging with patients in brief pleasant conversations.
• Maintains a level of patience with patients/visitors.
• Maintains current knowledge of the facility procedures and guest-related information including, facility general information, general event information and taxi/transportation assistance.
• Maintains current knowledge of emergency procedures, situations, and safety procedures.
• Responds to safety hazards.
• Cross trained to cover other facilities areas as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Prior related experience, preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of the surrounding area a plus.
• Clean driver’s license required.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $29,330.33 - $52,794.59 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
