Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Contracted School Counselor to join our team for the 2023/2024 academic year. As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. You will provide counseling services, guidance, and support to students, families, and staff members.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, personal, and social development needs.
• Assess students' abilities, interests, and strengths to develop appropriate academic and career goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans for students with behavioral, emotional, or academic challenges.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to students facing immediate personal or academic issues.
• Assist students in developing decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Promote a positive and inclusive school culture through character education and social-emotional learning programs.
• Help students navigate the college and career planning process.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in school counseling.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
• State certification or licensure in School Counseling.
• Previous experience working as a school counselor is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff members.
• Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to student counseling and privacy.
• Understanding of academic and career planning processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
