Scheduler - Breast Center - Fulltime
Job description
Schedule all exams for the Breast Center, to include screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, and ultrasounds. Provide patient instructions for exam scheduled and request prior images as needed.
Verifies that a signed, dated and timed physician’s order is acquired prior to each out-patient exam obtaining accurate patient data, validating the requested exam has an appropriate diagnosis and or code related to the exam ordered.
Responsible for entering patient orders into Breast Center order entry module, screening all exams for Medical Necessity under Medicare Limited coverage.
Greets patients and family members upon entry into the Breast Center. Answer incoming calls, return voicemail and transfer calls as appropriate. Maintain incoming faxes on the fax server and order queue in Meditech.
Uses interpersonal skills effectively to build and maintain cooperative working relationships within and outside of the Breast Center. This position works closely with patients, physicians and their office staff in providing the best patient care.
Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines. Perform Registration tasks as needed.
