SUMMARY:
Sanitation Supervisor oversees sanitation functions in the Honolulu Cookie Company operations facility to ensure compliance with all quality management programs and food safety systems, which includes HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing
Practices), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Maintains plant sanitation programs through documentation and procedures to fulfill sanitation requirements while fostering a safe working environment.

- Responsible for all aspects of thorough cleaning and sanitation for all processing equipment, tools, machines and all areas; Follow and set repair schedules on all sanitation equipment.
- Implements and maintains Sanitation GMP provisions and monitors associate practices that relate to cleanliness, and pest control.
- Responsible for motivating sanitation staff to perform at their best and deliver results in a continuous process improvement environment.
- Serves as a primary trainer, responsible for coaching and training new operators and providing refresher training to assist staff.
- Promotes, complies, actively participates and enforces the importance of safety, to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

- Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
- Balances and assigns workload by matching the responsibility based on individual skill and trade specialty.
- Coordinates sanitation plan with Operations and Quality Assurance department according to production schedules and staffing requirements.
- Conducts physical inspections of equipment to evaluate effectiveness of sanitation efforts.
- Collaborate with QA and assist in the development of the Master Sanitation Program.
- Able to apply proper chemical applications throughout the facility, demonstrate the proper usage and application of all sanitation equipment; perform inventory of chemicals and sanitation supplies.
- Ensure the proper verification of cleaning & sanitization events by enforcing proper and accurate documentation of all sanitation forms/logs.
- Support management during plant sanitation audits.
- Review new equipment or equipment modifications to give feedback on design aspects that affect the ability to clean and sanitize the equipment.
- Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work in a fast paced, high stress environment.
- Requires strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation procedures and chemical application.
- Demonstrates people and team leadership skills through interaction with department supervisors and coworkers in a team environment (at least 3 years of supervisory experience preferred).
- Food industry related experience. Sanitation experience a plus to successfully perform the Duties and Responsibilities of the job.
- Must be able to work mornings, evenings and/or weekends based on production needs and may be required to work overtime, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Demonstrate leadership of sanitation programs and continuous improvement.
- Strong awareness in the food sector and sanitation.
- Strong interpersonal skills to include team building and oral communication.
- Strong organization (time-management) and planning skills (prioritization).
- Ilocano or Tagalog speaking a plus.

PHYSICAL & WORKING DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work around food manufacturing equipment and supplies.
- Continuously lifting, pushing, pulling and grasping while standing and kneeling for an 8 to 12 hour shift.
- Inside and outside areas of a typical industrial facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, outside grounds, variations in temperature, odors, humidity, and dust.
