The Salesforce Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and configuration activities related to the Cato Institute’s Salesforce database. Reporting to the Salesforce Administrator and working closely with the Development and Data Services teams, the Specialist will use their Salesforce expertise to assist with building marketing emails, generating mailing lists and campaigns, reports and dashboards, mass update and assist with maintaining integrations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day activities and operations of a complex, highly integrated Salesforce instance.
  • Handle basic administrative functions including identifying ways to streamline data entry, maintaining data integrity, ongoing user maintenance, modification of page layouts, generation of reports and dashboards, creation of new fields and other routine tasks.
  • Upload and manage email lists for distribution in HubSpot.
  • Assist departments with the design and scheduling of marketing emails.
  • Troubleshoot login issues, MFA, and password resets.
  • Manage updates to permission sets, organization sharing settings, record access and other data security protocols.
  • Manage and identify rules for duplicate management and other data hygiene protocols in Salesforce and HubSpot.
  • Support the integration and implementation of third-party applications. Manage less complex Salesforce integrations – those not handled by the Salesforce Administrator.
  • Conduct mass imports of new records and updates of already existing records through bulk data editing tool Apsona.
  • Assign and respond to incoming cases ranging from list pull requests to troubleshooting integration errors that users encounter.
  • Conduct Salesforce training for new team members.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of experience in the administration and maintenance of Salesforce systems, ideally in a nonprofit context with Salesforce Lightning and Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP).
  • Strong Understanding of Excel including effective use of formulas and functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Understanding of data governance best practices.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
  • Demonstrate self-starter with eagerness to learn and develop Salesforce Administrator skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with a Marketing Software, preferably HubSpot or Pardot
