About the Role
The Sales Account Specialist’s primary responsibility is to work with the Regional sales team with the goal of maximizing outside sales (Regional Sales Director, Account Executives) time spent out of the office on face to face sales calls.
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Directors and Account Executives in all areas of the day-to-day administrative functions as required in the acquisition of new customers and maintenance of existing customers. Those duties will include but are not limited to coordination of requests for proposals (RFP) by preparing all necessary documentation for submission to headquarters to produce quotes, proposals and service contracts; assisting (and possible attending) with preparation for customer meetings/presentations; serve as a Sales Contact in the Director’s and Account Executive’s absence; run, monitor and analyze various performance reports for key accounts on a weekly, monthly or ad hoc basis; and assist in implementation and integration of new or existing services.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate the Sales Director and Account Executives rate negotiating process, to include preparation of the RFP package for submission to Pricing; facilitate the timely collection of additional informational requirements; and package the proposal for customer presentation, which may include PowerPoint presentation preparation.
- Performance reporting of accounts to the regional sales team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the regional sales team and key customers.
- Support sales team in all facets of obtaining and maintaining their customer base.
- Generally enable sales personnel to maximize time spent face-to-face with customers, by working with operations, customer service, finance and other business functions which would have been handled by the outside sales team.
- Deliver quality service by consistently demonstrating effective telephone, listening, questioning, follow through and accuracy skills.
- Actively problem-solve and resolve situations as directed by manager.
- Perform other administrative functions as directed by Sales Director.

And these qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Highly productive, with a sense of the importance of quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and yet be compatible within a team environment.
- Ability to effectively research and analyze data and demonstrate effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
Extra credit if you have:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
- Prior transportation industry experience.

The hourly range for this position in California is $29.42 - $40.04. The hourly rate will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
