Construction Safety Director
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience working in Health and Safety Management in ground-up construction.
- CHST, ASP, CSP certifications preferred.
- OSHA 500 certification preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the NYC DOB Codes.
- Expertise in sidewalk sheds and scaffolding, and general jobsite safety.
- Advanced knowledge of compliance, site safety and on-site requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in conflict and crisis management.
- May assist in review and formulation of new Safety Manual for use by the Agency.
- May be requested to teach various Safety Training courses as required.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review all active Technico projects.
- Conduct safety audits for all active projects.
- Review all submissions of Site Safety Plans and Programs to assure code/standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with written health and safety program guidelines, pre-construction meetings.
- Work with Project Managers on jobsite infractions for non-compliance.
- Call and direct meetings as required for all projects with multiple offenses/infractions.
- On call with for emergency response/real time field reporting documentation, i.e. jobsite incidents, accidents, safety, injuries, property damage, etc.
- Maintain a working relationship with all City/State and Federal regulatory agencies.
- Supervise assigned personnel, review reports, work habits and individual performance, to provide specific guidance to aid in optimizing overall performance and efficiency.
- Report all relevant safety related issues and provide clear guidance and direction to resolve.
- Stop project for major infractions and safety compliance issues that do not follow company policies and/or governmental agencies rules and regulations.
- Work with Permit Department to lift imposed stop work order.
- Handle DOB/DOT/ECB violations and court representation.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
