Center Lift offers the following services to marine clientele: salvage & groundings of marine assets; launching of vessels and barges; movement of heavy equipment; haul out of marine assets for repair or service; Lightering; and assist with draft restraints.
Riggers/Technicians work on the job site to assist all levels of operation by managing aspects of the rigging process from set up to dismantling the rigging and keeping their work area clean.
Applicants must have a valid passport for international travel.
Drug and Alcohol testing is required prior to hiring.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all aspects of the rigging process from set up to dismantling the rigging.
- Connect hoses to pneumatic bags and monitor pressures as needed.
- Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
- Attach shackles, pulleys and blocks.
- Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
- Set up and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment or vessels.
- Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
- Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.
- Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
- Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
- Operate heavy equipment (forklifts, bulldozers, cranes) as directed and in accordance with all safety regulations.
- Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.
- Install ground rigging for yarding lines, attaching chokers to logs and then to the lines.
- Housekeeping – managing the hoses, keeping equipment and material in order
- Fueling equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
