Job Description

The Inventory Specialist will work with the General Manager and Inventory Manager to develop and maintain policies and procedures that always ensure secure and compliant management of inventory. Conduct regular audits of the facility and its employees. Investigate and resolve compliance concerns, issues, or violations. Keep up with regularly changing rules and regulations and ensure understanding and implementation throughout the company. Collaborate with management to address compliance concerns, issues, or violations. The inventory manager must constantly monitor all applicable Michigan laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Inventory transactions are entered and updated in a timely manner
• Help develop, execute, and manage the process of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Manage labeling and packaging process to ensure compliance with METRC
• Ensure all inventory reconciliation is regularly completed and submitted to METRC accurately
• Track movement of all products on its way to or within the building and between departments
• Establish and launch each department's inventory tracking needs supported with SOPs
• Create and maintain necessary records and inventory reports for all cannabis and non-cannabis products both within POS and METRC
• Perform inventory and miscellaneous analysis as needed
• Coordinate communication between departments regarding inventory movement including packaging, testing, waste and more
• Coordinate the procurement of supplies and equipment for entire building as needed
• Coordinate with headquarters regarding who is buying, when to buy, when received and invoice approval
• Maintain internal tracking document for all procurement
• Learn various internal Inventory Control Systems
• Remain current and knowledgeable about inventory compliance changes and ways to better manage
• Help lead the team and work the selling floor as a member of management
• Contributes to the safety and sanitation of the store

Experience and Requirements

• 1+ years of experience auditing inventory and shipment
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening (excludes THC)
• Must be compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the Cannabis industry
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills
