The Retail Account Manager at Mary Mack’s, Inc. is responsible for generating new, offline, brick-and-mortar retail sales expectations for business growth and supporting current initiatives. This role will create engaging emails and outreach, encourage partnerships, maintain relationships, and develop promotional marketing materials to keep distribution partners informed and engaged. Together, with the team, this role will lead brick-and-mortar revenue goals, contribute to pricing strategies, and innovate promotional offerings to stores that will increase sales turns and engage consumers in Mary Mack’s brands. This role will be responsible for achieving budgeted growth impact and guiding the company in B2B and D2C trade shows, industry leadership roles, LinkedIn connectivity, forecast demand planning, and other related sales support roles to establish Mary Mack’s brand presence domestically and internationally.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple internal brick-and-mortar initiatives to establish relationships with target retailers, align necessary partnerships, engage manufacturer rep firms, and align with distribution partnerships that will support the overall market share goals and initiatives.
  • Identify, lead, attend, and engage with B2B and industry trade shows and events for brand exposure and placement
  • Creativity, innovation and keen ability to meet sales goals as identified
  • Update product catalog, partnerships brand pitch deck, and maintain correct wholesale pricing to align with partnership needs, as defined by target goals
  • Maintain good relationships with new and existing vendors
  • Creatively understand retail merchandising needs and develop in store placement strategy for visual execution
  • Prepare and maintain vendor contact directory for Mary Mack’s, Inc.
  • Prepare quarterly reports and update team on number of new leads, prospects, quotes, and purchase orders
  • Provide supporting materials and information to all departments when necessary
  • Identify new product, forecasting needs, and sales opportunities
  • Coordinate with Marketing team to optimize new and existing product catalog: pictures, product descriptions, keywords, titles, bullet points, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining detailed product data, pricing, sales sheets, and sales assets
  • Identify product innovation pipeline needs, based on retail partnerships
  • Submit quotes to partnership vendors and review invoices that are sent to Mary Mack’s, Inc. for accuracy in pricing, discounts and allowances.
  • Responsible for demand planning by channel and everyday goods vs. promotional activities
  • Oversight of retailer packaging requirements, labeling needs, safety standard requirements, insurance, and other by retailer expectations to maintain profitable partnership.
  • Routinely inspect contract TOS to fully understand the following for each vendor: Return Policy, Damages/Defectives policy, Payment Terms, Slotting Fees, Chargebacks, etc.
  • Working closely with all team members to implement growth strategies
  • Provide detailed and organized departmental support
  • Develop keen customer service principles and policies that support external partnerships
  • Ability to meet, lead, and generate goals as identified
  • Assist with product launches
  • Monitor the competitive retail market landscape and report internal findings for strategic alignment
  • Keep abreast and report on consumer trends that relate to business initiatives

Supervisory Responsibilities

At this time, you will have oversight of outside sales support systems, people and partnerships. Eventually, your support will be engaged to grow the sales team internally at Mary Mack’s roles and responsibilities. We anticipate growth in this role and your further engagement to create a strong supportive team to optimize growth for Mary Mack’s.

The following attributes are desired:

  • Prior brick-and-mortar sales and merchandising knowledge
  • Prior knowledge of basic sales principles, engagement techniques, customer service, and achieving budget goals
  • Experience in Consumer Products Goods (CPG) space
  • Experience in brand development and/or product development
  • Experience working in the food and beverage manufacturing industry encouraged but not required

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; OR

Associate’s Degree with a minimum 3 years in a business environment; OR

High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum 5 years in a business environment
