The Department of Biostatistics is seeking a full-time Research Program Coordinator to provide scientific, programmatic, and administrative support to faculty research programs. The research involves statistical methods work related to estimating the causal effects of programs and policies, as well as collaborative work with researchers across the School of Public Health. The position will act as a liaison and facilitator to assist faculty in accomplishing the mission of their research programs and collaborate frequently with key internal JHU partners, including students, staff, and other faculty. The position reports directly to the research program faculty principal investigator.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Study Management

Works closely with faculty research teams in overall study implementation, including project management, external communications, and internal coordination.
Creates processes and new systems to ensure high level of operation and successful implementation of the projects
Makes strategic recommendations/decisions to meet project goals
Facilitates communication between research teams and sponsoring agencies
Prepares and maintains study protocols and reports for sponsors, including for progress reports
Generates reports for project deliverables
Participates in planning, analysis, and interpretation of data
Participates in preparing data for analysis including cleaning data and quality control activities
Performs literature reviews and prepares evidence tables and summaries for grant proposals and manuscripts
Edits manuscripts, including formatting and citation management
Assists investigative team in developing plan for disseminating the results of studies
Drafts PowerPoint slides for faculty presentations on study activities
Plans agendas and coordinates project meetings
Assures project management tasks are completed (i.e. prioritize, timeliness, milestones, monitoring, status)
Other duties as assigned

Grants Management

Manage programmatic reporting and tracking requirements for sponsors; create systems for collecting and organizing team input needed for reporting; send reminders and follow up with team members
Assist with scientific writing, editing, and compiling grant application documents and reviewing sponsor requirements; review final application for accuracy
Work with faculty and grant analysts to prepare grant budgets according to program needs; review budgets for accuracy and draft budget justifications
Assist with sponsor progress reports and award close-out procedures

Marketing & Communications/Events

Plan and supervise program participation in special events critical to programs mission, such as conferences, international meetings, and promotional events
Plan and execute marketing and other communications initiatives to promote work and build new relationships with partners
Plan meetings, create and manage invitations and attendee responses, book rooms and food as needed, manage vendors, circulate meeting agendas, take notes, and assign and monitor post-meeting action-items with team members and stakeholders.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills to manage multiple programs.
Effective interpersonal skills in dealing with a variety of constituents including faculty, staff, students, community members and funders.
Able to effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency.
Ability to follow-through independently in accomplishing program goals and objectives.
Attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Project management experience.
Data cleaning, management, and analysis experience.
Experience with the R programming language.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
