RELATIONSHIP MANAGER:
The Relationship Manager directs customer and client contact in management of day-to-day client business. A Relationship Manager may assist Sales in pursuing business targets. They work largely without direct supervision and have latitude in carrying out departmental policies.
The mission of Client Management is to be an effective liaison between our clients and Cornerstone. Client Management ensures excellent customer service and client satisfaction so that Cornerstone maximizes the value of its relationships and maintains a great reputation overall.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides superior client and customer service by handling complex product and service questions from customers and clients.
- Handles complex customer disputes by providing resolution or working with others to identify and resolve issues. Escalates complex issues to others as directed.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with clients and customers using email, phone, and fax. May travel to meetings with clients and on sales calls.
- Helps draft and implement client requirements for new business and modifications to existing business. Works with departmental management to implement requirements with Cornerstone’s operational and IT staff.
- Supports Cornerstone’s profitability for the client’s business; balances Cornerstone’s ability to provide services with client requests.
- Monitors and analyzes client activity to proactively present solutions and to mitigate issues.
- Generates analytical reports. Assists with executive summaries and makes presentations to management.
- Has an above average understanding of Cornerstone’s insurance systems and technology platforms to resolve customer issues and to record business in company’s software.
- Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside parties, including high-level staff.
- Handles confidential and non-routine information.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Has an above average understanding of insurance regulations as they pertain to client business as well as the market in which the business is sold.
- Possesses an above average understanding of the industry in which the client works.
- Suggests special projects and process improvements to improve business. May manage projects.
- Helps to manage the work of the support staff. Assists with performance peer reviews, coaching, and developing employees.
- Assists in the development and management of departmental strategies to develop Cornerstone’s capabilities and profitability. Defines objectives and standards and evaluates outcomes.
- Recommends process and system improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree required although significant experience in a similar job role may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
- P&C Insurance experience and professional designations required. Must seek and hold a P&C producer’s license or similar insurance industry designation.
- People skills are essential.
- Underwriting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of P&C insurance regulation and industry standards required as pertains to Cornerstone’s and clients’ businesses.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent listening skills.
- Proficiency in current versions of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Above average proficiency in Excel.
- Proficiency in mathematics required, as is ability to create and analyze data reports.
- Ability to learn and use transactional software and web applications as a super user.
- Ability to work independently and on teams.
- Ability to work in high pressure situations.
- Experience in setting and managing personal and employee goals and strategies.
- Proven problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Must be friendly, amenable, professional, and courteous.
- Flexibility and capacity to handle multiple, concurrent tasks.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
