The Nurse Manager position is full-time and will be located at the Corporate Office in State College, PA. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical oversight of the LPNs in the residential programs across the organization. The Nurse Manager will be involved in all high risk, complex medical situations to include hospitalizations, investigations, and assist with establishing individualized medical protocols. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

NURSE MANAGER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a high level of dependability to include attendance at work and punctuality.
- Complete Certified Investigation training. Participate in administrative reviews for all deaths and complex medical concerns.
- Provide clinical oversight to the delivery of the health care.
- Meet with the Nursing staff on a routine basis to include facilitating regular Nursing Roundtable meetings and act as arbiter for organization-wide decisions and changes regarding nurses (Electronic Health Record, consistency in documentation/forms, etc.)
- Review ODP directives and work with the Compliance Department to ensure current policies meet regulatory requirements and create new policies as needed.
- Work with training department to ensure medical trainings meet regulatory body’s requirements.
- Clinical consultant for all high-risk, complex medical situations in the regions.
- Liaison with the ODP medical team.
- Monitoring the medical documentation completed in the charts of high-risk individuals.
- Assist in providing training and/or orientation to the nurses.
- Lead on Health Risk Screening Tool and completing clinical reviews within 14 days of the completion of the initial screening. Provide follow up to the programs when necessary. Provide oversight on processes.
- Provide oversight on the development of person-specific health risk protocols and ongoing monitoring to determine if protocols are effective.
- Medical representative on Quality Improvement, Risk, and Compliance Committee to provide medical perspective on and assist in development of health and wellness related quality improvement objectives, assist in evaluating patterns in risk and incident management related to medication errors and medically involved incidents and risks, and provide guidance for organization healthcare processes and medical regulation compliance.
- Support nursing staff with communicating with medical providers in complex medical situations and/or facilitating second opinions.
- Complete training to become a Medication Administration trainer.
- Complete certification to become a Diabetes Instructor.
GENERAL DUTIES:

- Keeps sensitive information relative to the organization, employees, and/or the people we support confidential and adheres to the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
- Completes mandatory orientation program and annual training programs; completes applicable attendance documentation; shares newly acquired information with fellow employees; attends and participates in applicable meetings, committees, and/or ad hoc work groups.
- Performs assignments in accordance with the organization’s safety and health program; reports safety/health hazards or violations of safety/health policies to assigned supervisor.
- Uses, maintains, and safeguards equipment, supplies, financial resources, etc. in an appropriate manner and in the best interest of the organization; reports needed equipment repairs.
- Performs other similar and related duties as necessary and/or as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Associates degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing and working with people with disabilities. 10+ years of experience preferred.
