- New Emergency Department with 28 treatment rooms, including three trauma bays.

Under the general direction and guidelines of Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) standing orders and standards established through the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania, the Registered Nurse, RN in the Emergency Room is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Essential Functions of the Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room:
- Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status.
- Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs.
- Implementing clinical nursing interventions.
- Having a highly diverse skill set.
- Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments.
- Evaluating, updating and revising the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Providing care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short stay to trauma.
- Administering medications in a safe manner consistent with the state of Practice.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Vocational diploma/nursing diploma minimum requirement.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire required.
