MEDIKO is a privately-owned, correctional healthcare provider headquartered in Richmond, VA. We are looking for a Regional Director with an active RN license. The ideal candidate will also have multi-site healthcare experience. The Regional Director will manage the Regional Managers across the company and ensure we are meeting contractual obligations while delivering best in class services. This position reports to the VP Operations and requires significant travel (~75%+).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages direct, supervisors and provides leadership to the Regional Managers.
- Cascades, translates and reinforces strategic priorities, targets and objectives in and across assigned sites.
- Ensures site compliance with Policy and Procedures, contract requirements and state standards.
- Builds working relationships with clients to facilitate understanding of connections between strategic priorities of the contract and client needs.
- Collaborates with site management regional and Corp. team members to implement and monitor business process and clinical quality improvement initiatives across assigned sites.
- Identifies site decision makers and site influencers at each contract site and schedule regular visits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures.
- Attended monthly and quarterly client meetings
- Monitors site compliance with contracted subcontractors’ vendors.
- Develops, implements, and coaches site managers in monitoring their site.
- Understands compares and contrasts the strengths and weaknesses of direct reports. Leverages this knowledge/information to identify and implement improvement opportunities across assigned sites.
- Coaches and holds direct reports accountable for implementation of site contract requirements.
- Takes action on priority objectives and ensures contract requirements are met.
- Proactively participates in recruitment and retention strategy in and across assigned sites.
- Tracks, monitors, and communicates key regional planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Anticipates planning, budgeting and forecasting /issues related to assigned sites.
- Tracks and monitors site staffing, vacancies, penalties, and liquidated damages
- Attends pre-bid meetings and participates in proposal development as assigned
- Assists and reviews the work of others and tasks associated with these activities. Reviews and analyzes staffing and pharmacy financial reports for assigned sites and takes corrective action as needed to achieve goals. Provides insight “behind the numbers”.
- Implements contract data gathering tools related to client contract performance, and effectively uses data to identify processes and solutions. Coaches others in the collection and analysis of contract data. Directs appropriate action based on data analysis to ensure contract compliance.
- Responsible for the transition of facilities in his or her region ensuring Corp. Departments and resources are advised of needs and transition checklist is completed.
- Guides and ensures effective management of employee engagement, development, and retention efforts throughout area of responsibility and uses data to monitor progress. Identifies high potential talent for development, promotion and succession opportunities.
- Takes action to achieve identified goals related to strategic priority measurement processes.
- Monitors site CAPs, and reports results/outcomes of actions taken.
- Identifies and communicates barriers, challenges and resources needed to achieve expected results.
- Proactively identifies and communicates potential financial issues/risks, and takes action to drive improvements in regional financial performance.
- Other assignments as necessary
Position qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum of four (4) years of management experience in a healthcare setting
- Active RN license is required
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- Multi-site management experience preferred
- Correctional healthcare management experience preferred
- Security clearance required by applicable jurisdictions
- Travel required (~75%+)
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel overnight
- COVID 19 vaccination required
