Stanford Athletics is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is tasked with ensuring the flawless execution of the DAPER’s talent acquisition processes including recruiting, networking, and talent assessment. They will strategize and coordinate our hiring and staffing while adhering to best hiring practices. Further, this role will assist our DEI officer in developing and implementing a diversity hiring strategy that supports DAPER’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. This position
Major Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Sr. Associate Athletics Director, Human Resources, and in partnership with the Chief Diversity Officer, partners with DAPER hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies for multiple assigned positions. Source, screen, schedule, interview, and assess diverse candidate slates. Perform reference checks, and extend candidate offers. Provide timely updates to hiring managers and candidates
- Help DAPER shift from a reactive model to proactively building our talent pipeline
- With guidance from HR leadership, develop progressive diversity sourcing and attraction strategies. Builds connections with relevant associations and partners to stay connected with the latest information on impactful diversity recruiting, sourcing, and branding
- Work with the HR team to articulate the employee value proposition to external and internal candidates.
- Consult with HR colleagues to ensure consistent and fair decisions are made regarding compensation.
- Educates managers on interviewing techniques, potential legal concerns, best practices, and strategies for making compliant and equitable hiring decisions. Provides training and guidance on the overall talent process. Recommends, creates, and conducts recruiting-related workshops for managers on a regular basis.
- Routinely monitors and analyzes recruiting information to identify trends and/or opportunities to improve hiring capability and results. Guides department managers on external market news and talent trends.
- Readily shares ideas for process improvements and implements approved ideas
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience successfully developing and executing candidate generation strategies, including using innovative and creative sourcing methods to tap into diverse and passive applicant pools.
- Experience using an enterprise-scale Applicant Tracking System (ATS), preferably Taleo.
- Demonstrated experience with web-based systems and recruiting sources, including the internet, social media, warm/cold calling, referrals, events, networking, publications, industry groups/associations, and job fairs.
- Ability to deliver results quickly and efficiently to DAPER’s standards and to effectively manage multiple projects and candidates.
- Superb customer focus, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Must have the gravitas, intellectual capability, and talent acquisition and operational knowledge to work successfully with hiring managers, HR colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
- Thorough understanding of hiring, candidate selection, and assessment processes.
- Understanding of how other HR disciplines fit into the recruitment process and employee lifecycle.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and problem-solve in order to complete work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal employment laws applicable to the hiring of employees, including affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements.
This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States for a hybrid or remote work arrangement. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $88,000-$128,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
