We are looking for a Recruiter to join our Human Resources team in Americas.

The main purpose of the role is to the implementation of effective recruiting strategies to attract and retain a diverse pool of qualified talent for the Americas organization. Works in collaboration with the recruiting department, hiring managers and human resource staff to fully support recruitment into the new hire onboarding process.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide recruiting support including candidate sourcing, screening and selections, scheduling and conducting interviews.
  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders including Hiring Managers, internal/external candidates and external recruitment partners.
  • Provide Hiring Managers with tailored sourcing solutions for each of their vacancies.
  • Enforce legal compliance, ensuring that corporate recruitment processes and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Ability to partner with management to gain a detailed understanding of job requirements and qualifications for all jobs within the company to improve effectiveness of candidate sourcing.
  • Actively approach candidates who may be suitable for a career with Sparrows using a variety of recruiting systems.
  • Ability to effectively recruit and represent the company at job fairs and various hiring events in the region including technical schools, military recruiting, etc.
  • Collaborates with department managers to draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria within set guidelines.
  • Conduct reference checks, make job offers and handle negotiation of offers.
  • Using systems in place to build a talent bank of suitable candidates.
  • Be proactive in creating a Pipeline of Talent for all key roles and hard to fill vacancies.
  • Look for areas to develop Continuous improvement within the recruitment department on systems and processes within the Recruitment Team.
  • Use social media to engage with candidates, promote and enhance Sparrows’ employer brand.
  • Engage with external recruitment partners regarding the supply of contracted personnel where such resources are deemed necessary/appropriate.
  • Ensures that all candidates are actively managed through the process and that they have a positive hiring experience.
  • Assist Hiring Managers with the candidate requisition process utilizing our HCM system.
  • Perform reference checks on applicants and identify potential red flags.
  • May provide backup support in the onboarding pre hire process by scheduling pre hire drug/alcohol and medical testing.
  • As a member of the HR department, will help with New Hire Orientation including giving company overview presentation.
  • Keeping up to date with local market knowledge and recruitment practices to provide support to managers.
  • Monitor and report recruitment activity on weekly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Maintain accurate vacancy status records.
  • Manage the performance and relationships with external recruitment partners (such as recruitment agencies, job boards etc).
  • Contributes to team efforts by providing support in other HR functions as required.

HSEQ responsibilities

  • It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
  • The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree qualification desirable
  • In house recruitment experience preferred but not essential
  • Experienced Oil and Gas, Industrial, Renewables or similar recruitment background preferred
  • Experienced delivery of international recruitment campaigns desirable
  • Ability to travel as needed to support recruiting needs
  • Ability to focus on priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Confidence and drive to succeed coupled with the ability to be diplomatic and tactful
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to analyze data and produce reports
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn HCM system, process flow and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Familiarity with social media recruitment and professional networking sites.
  • Familiarity with Affirmative Action Plan requirements for Federal Contractors or ability to learn.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
