Telecare operates the Mark Reed Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) center in McCleary WA. This program, located in Grays Harbor County, is a secure 16-bed inpatient E&T for adults aged 18+ who meet the criteria for services under the Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA). Our mission at this facility is to engage individuals with complex needs in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams. We are looking for employees that have a desire to work in a team environment that is focused on recovery and empowerment.
Shifts Available:
Full Time .9; Shift Hours 7:00 am - 7:30 pm OR 7:00 pm - 7:30 am; Days vary as needed
Wage range $22.38 - $32.95 – Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Recovery Specialist Supervisor provides day to day supervision, coaching and discipline for an assigned team of Recovery Specialists. The Recovery Specialist Supervisor coordinates and participates in all elements of direct care on the assigned shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishes, maintains, and co-facilitates a therapeutic relationship with members served; acts as a role model by maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude and problem solving and coping with mental illness
  • Provides safe, effective, and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care
  • Supervises staff by providing timely feedback, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Partners with Clinical Director to create and deliver trainings and ensures direct reports receive required information and skill development
  • Participates in the hiring process with guidance and approval from Clinical Director and Program Administrator
  • On-boards new team members
  • Ensures team members meet required core competencies
  • Ensures clear and concise shift report/hand-off meetings, written logs, and any other communication means the program employs for teams to perform at a high level
  • Ensures required documentation is completed within designated time frames including adverse event documentation, clinical documentation and rounding.
  • Ensures tasks and duties are completed by designated team members
  • Develops and provides leadership for program groups
  • Participates as a team member and provides input via reporting observations and concerns, and asking appropriate questions
  • Attends and participates in community meetings and groups
  • Documents client activities of daily living, response to interventions, and significant behavior changes as appropriate
  • Admits and discharges clients as assigned; this includes completing associated documentation
  • Reviews and implements client treatment plans
  • Provides resident safety via monitoring including but not limited to rounds and seclusion and restraint supervision.
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning meetings
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) techniques
  • Provides individual and group skill building in accordance with the client service plan
  • Charts and observes client behavior
  • Obtains client vital signs and weights, as assigned
  • Collects stool, urine and other specimens as requested on assigned clients
  • Assists members served with hygienic care
  • Assists at mealtime by distributing meal trays, pouring beverages, and/or feeding members served in need of assistance
  • Provides client monitoring including, but not limited to, rounds, seclusion and restraint supervision and smoke breaks
  • Assists in client outings, which may include driving
  • Practices body substance precautions at all times
  • Recovery Specialist Supervisors do not provide clinical supervision
  • Must assist with restraint of members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • BA/BS in behavioral sciences field with two (2) year inpatient experience OR a high school diploma and one (1) year as a Lead Recovery Specialist II with three (3) years inpatient experience OR a high school diploma with at least four (4) years' experience in a behavioral health setting with two (2) of those years being inpatient experience. May substitute an AA in behavioral science or equivalent credits for one (1) year of experience.
  • Meets requirements for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual or local requirements may apply

Preferred:

  • BA/BS in behavioral sciences field with three (3) years of experience in a psychiatric inpatient mental health setting

SKILLS

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills regarding psychiatric behavior and treatment documentation
  • Ability to identify and respond to risk of violence and suicide
  • Ability to lead teams effectively
  • Ability to facilitate groups
  • Strong decision-making skills including the ability to recognize risk and act accordingly.
  • Ability to lead a diverse group of paraprofessionals toward agreed upon objectives and outcomes.
  • Expertise in de-escalation techniques

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, push, pull and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach and to do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetitive and dexterity and be exposed to uneven walking ground as well as Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Hospital Waste, Chemical & Infectious).
