Our family-owned funeral home in Bremerton is seeking an addition to our team. We are currently looking for a receptionist/removal technician. This is an ideal position for someone interested in gaining funeral home experience and serving our community.

This position includes clerical tasks, answering phones, supporting the funeral directors, and greeting families. It also includes mortuary removals which entails utilizing our vehicles and equipment to bring decedents into our care from the place of death.

The right candidate will bring professionalism, flexibility, and a willingness to learn. Removals require strength, particularly upper body strength so candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance or restrictions.

At present, we are serving over 1,250 families per year. We are a full-service funeral home with three locations, offering both cremation and burial options. Our focus is on the families we serve. We tailor each arrangement to the family's personal needs.

This is a full-time position 8:30-5 pm Monday-Friday. As death is untimely, this position will require working on-call some nights as well as the occasional weekend.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties will include:

-Answering phones

-Greeting families

-Clerical tasks

-Assisting the funeral director

-Light janitorial

-Removals (bringing decedents into our care) during office hours as well as some nights and some weekends (Nights and Weekends paid per call)

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications for this position are:

-PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE; natural colored hair, no visible tattoos OR piercings (tasteful ear piercings are ok)

-Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organizational skills

-Strong ability to evaluate and appropriately address privacy and confidentiality

-Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks at once

-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

-Strong problem-solving skills

-Strong accuracy and attention to detail

-The ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment

-Comfortable communicating over the phone and in person

-Valid Driver's License

-Ability to lift 50+ lbs without restrictions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
