Receptionist / Medical Records (CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO)

Brookside Rehabilitation and Wellness, a privately owned, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Castle Rock, is seeking a compassionate and conscientious full-time Receptionist / Medical Records employee to join our team of qualified individuals! Rate of Pay

$18.00 an hour + based on experience

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Experience in a clerical position is preferred
  • Must have customer service experience
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, staff, and the general public
  • Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills and add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers accurately.
  • Read and understand company policies and procedures and other literature and documents applicable to assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of computer.
  • Be motivated and work productively. Daily set exemplary standards of ethics and care of the employer’s resources and property; support company philosophies and goals; function as a team player, and maintain good communications within the department and between the department and others within the facility

Responsibilities:

  • Perform clerical support in an efficient manner following the current federal, state, and local standards guidelines and regulations that govern long-term care and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Greet visitors.
  • Screen telephone calls and route to the appropriate individual or department
  • Route all deliveries to appropriate departments.
  • Enforce visitation and screening policies and procedures
  • Prepare and submit accurate, complete reports on a timely basis as required.
  • Assist with administrative duties as directed
  • Employee standard and prescribed methods and systems to maintain accurate, complete and timely records pertaining to medical conditions and treatments for all medical conditions and treatments for all residents in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and with facility policies. Assure that telephone orders are properly documented in resident charts and other records.
  • Routinely audit all residents’ charts for deficiencies to the appropriate staff and assure that deficiencies are corrected.
  • Obtain and record ICD-9 code numbers for the face sheet, MDS assessments and the disease index for the primary diagnosis.
  • Obtain required signatures by attending physicians on all documentation and advise physicians and other providers of due dates for visits.
  • Purge charts and file in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Close and file records of discharged residents.
  • Safeguard all resident medical files through an established system of filing, check out and return.
  • Understand and stay current in all applicable laws affecting resident medical records.
  • Handle telephone communications for the department as needed.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality of all resident and facility information.
  • Attends and maintains logs, records of meetings within facility (i.e.: UR, QA)
  • Maintain daily census and resident roster information.
  • Copy and distribute telephone orders daily to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties and functions as requested.
