JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Department: Sourcing
Reports to: Purchasing Director
Location: Hollis, NH (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Status: Full-time, Regular, Non-exempt
Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000 (Based on Experience)
Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for supporting the purchasing department. The QA
Specialist will assist the team with various aspects of the procurement lifecycle, such as auditing factories, sample checking and ensuring product continuity, approving labels and artwork, creating specs, collecting certificates and documents required to approve suppliers, making sure all documents are current, as well as other assigned tasks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take ownership in vendor approval process through our vendor portal
- Always ensure vendor compliance with industry and client requirements by analyzing required certifications and keeping track of document validity
- Coordinate third party audit visits to factories when necessary
- Conduct/document factory audit visits and other quality assurance activities and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance of company spec sheets, label, and nutritional panel
- Review and file vendor spec sheets
- Collaborate on labels development and approval with art and sourcing team
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
- Approve and send samples to customers as per sales team request
- Following up with the appropriate channels when mistakes are found
- Ensuring product continuity and compliance, visual packaging, and actual product: color, size, shape, taste, smell, texture, ingredients, etc.
- Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data against current product or NBE.
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Sales team
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases
- Bachelor’s degree Required in Biology, Physics or Agricultural Sciences
- 3 years of experience in Food and Beverage Industry
- Knowledge of good sanitation practices, handling and preparation of food and relevant regulatory requirements
- Success rates in eliminating defects and preventing returns
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP software
- Certifications: Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma.

- Essential functions of the position require the employee to use a telephone, work at a standard computer terminal and be able to follow reasonable ergonomic recommendations, sit for long periods of time and other physical strains from general office and administrative tasks.
