Position is responsible for ensuring that predictable, consistent, high-quality products are produced and distributed to consumers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Manages the systems that drive quality in the processing plant, Champions the quality effort among employees in all departments.
- Establishes and integrates product standards including visuals for the production floor.
- Ensures that food products meet standards set by the company, regulatory authorities, and customers.
- Develops and reviews food quality and safety policies.
- Creates and structures testing and verification procedures, including frequency and documentation.
- Manages Quality data collection, process measurements, process analysis, and reporting; Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs); Facilitates accurate data collection; Makes improvements as necessary.
- Identifies areas of opportunity to reduce waste and improve efficiency Comprehends GMPs, sanitation processes, product recall procedures, and HACCP; Develops, implements, and manages related policy.
- Ensures that all quality checks are completed; Documents and communicates findings and recommends corrective action for non-compliance.
- Manages audits by third-party inspectors.
- Integrates quality and efficiency; Prevents unacceptable product from leaving the plant.
- Develops and provides training for quality assurance and line employees Monitors production processes.
- Inspects the facility for compliance with standards, determining methods to resolve any problems.
- Ensures that records and documentation of monitoring procedures and test results are maintained.
- Reviews customer feedback; Research problem areas; Introduces solutions; Responds to complaints.
- Employs a mindset of best practices and continuous improvement; Applies that to processes/policies/systems.
- Stays abreast of knowledge in the Quality field and regulations, including USDA; Attends trainings to remain current; Shares knowledge gained through professional improvement activities with team.
- Maintains effective working relationships and communication with USDA staff. Communicates effectively with management staff regarding all issues pertaining to food safety, compliance, process, and quality control programs.
- Manage material resources in a cost-efficient manner to include their proper utilization and maintenance.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels and excellent leadership of Quality department.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must be fluent in written/spoken English.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in QA management in a poultry slaughter and processing environment preferred.
- HACCP certified preferred.
- Ability to test products using applicable equipment and tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and food defense standards.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with computer use and systems.
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written; Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivation.
- High energy level.
- Capability to make sound judgments/good decisions.

- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise up to 110 db.
- May be exposed to chemicals used in the processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the position as directed by Case Farms.
- Able to stand or freely move for the duration of shift.
- When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures below 28 degrees and up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
