Public Disclosure Supervisor (HSC 3) DOH7000
Job description
This is primarily a telework position, with the possibility of occasional days in the office (Tumwater, WA) based on business needs. The timing and frequency are negotiable. Application review begins on December 8th and will be ongoing after that.
This position supports the Washington State Department of Health’s (DOH) mission to protect and improve the health of the State of Washington by functioning as one of three frontline supervisors within the Public Disclosure Office within the Center for Facilities, Risk, and Adjudication. This position is integral to reducing the department’s financial and legal risk. This is due to the high volume of public records requests received by the agency and the complex and sensitive nature of those records that are responsive, many of which contain identifiable healthcare information.
The Public Disclosure Supervisor leads a team of technical experts responsible for the intake of public records, record location and retrieval, and dissemination activities associated with all record-type areas of the department, including but not limited to healthcare professions and facilities, maternal and child health, healthy aging, food safety, drinking water, chronic disease prevention, public health emergencies, tribal public health, and public health system resources and services.
You’ll work to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, attorneys, state and federal agencies, and the public. This position also assists in coordinating all aspects of the public disclosure process, notification and escalation procedures, and ongoing support for changes in public disclosure functions as process changes occur due to legal or case law interpretations.
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of multiple personnel. This supervisory position is also responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the DOH Provider Credential Search website, which notifies the public regarding actions taken against provider and facility licenses.
