The Continuing and Professional Education division is currently seeking a part-time Program Specialist to coordinate and operate the Reimagine and Future of Workforce grant-funded programs. These grant-funded programs focus on workforce development training, college and career readiness, and job placement. The Program Specialist will provide program administration support in the following areas: program development and implementation, student recruitment, community outreach. This position will also be tasked with assisting each program in achieving its outcomes by monitoring student progress, troubleshooting academic, financial and socio-emotional challenges, and by supporting work-based learning opportunities and job placement. The Program Specialist works a flexible schedule as needed, and may be required to travel between the College's two campuses in Newburgh and Middletown and other sites as needed.


Job Requirements:


Education Required:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree.

Experience Required: Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in education, training, or workforce development program management, event planning, or office operations.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, or Social and Behavioral Sciences or related field.
  • Three years of related experience in education, training, or workforce development program management.
  • Experience supporting the unemployed and underemployed, and individuals who are members of groups that have traditionally been underrepresented.
  • Experience using techniques used to motivate and coach students, including supporting their resilience and self-regulation of learning, building their commitment to short- and long-term educational and career goals, and employing problem solving skills to manage challenges.
  • Ability to adapt and be successful in a remote working environment when necessary.
  • Proficiency in using office suites software, presentation software, spreadsheets, web applications, and social media, and experience with, or ability to learn how to use student enterprise resource planning systems such as Ellucian Banner and Augusoft Lumens.
  • Bilingual skills.

Salary: $25-$34 per hour commensurate with education and experience and grant-funding.
