Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a BC/BE Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our pediatric primary care office in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. This role would be an integrated model of care, which would include consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians and mental health therapists, along with psychiatric evaluations and medical management and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
- Develops treatment plans by determining nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders; establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
- Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress with the primary care providers and behavioral health team to provide integrated whole person care to our pediatric patients
- Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, and legal regulations; participates in utilization reviews; remaining available for emergency consultations.
- Maintains historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events; writing summaries.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
- Performs all other responsibilities and projects as they are assigned.
Salary/Hours
- Competitive guaranteed salary
- Flexible work schedule Monday through Friday, 20-40 hours per week.
- No on call or nights.
- Potential for part-time or full-time position.
- Benefits provided at 20 hours per week including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
Minimum qualifications
- Requires an M.D. or D.O. degree with certification in Psychiatry along with completion of a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State of Michigan
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $210,000.00 - $280,000.00 per year
