Project Manager - Perioperative Services
Job description
Reports to the Lifespan Vice President/Associate Chief Nursing Officer (VP/ACNO) of Perioperative Services a core member of the Executive Leadership Team of the Perioperative Service of Lifespan (�the Quad�). The focus of the Project Manager - Perioperative Services is to facilitate driving strategic and operational improvements in the perioperative service line under the direction of service line leaders/Quad and the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). The primary duties include working with perioperative committees to set timelines deliverables meeting agendas and minutes to advance success of the perioperative service line through improved efficiency and strategic operations. The Project Manager has systemwide responsibilities coordinating perioperative strategies for all affiliates and implementing systemwide efficiency improvements. Ensures that efforts are prioritized while working with peri-operative leadership to bring transparency and clarity on impact of investment in perioperative projects.
Responsibilities:
Project management:
� Prioritizes project timeliness organization and exception
� Works with and supports leaders of efficiency and strategy committees to advance the progression of projects undertaken to improve perioperative strategy operations and financial performance while maintaining quality:
o Jointly determines and describes scope and accountabilities (deadlines/targets) of new projects with perioperative committee leaders and Executive leadership
o Drives goals and objectives (writes 30/60/90-day plans tracks progress to deadlines with appropriate tools assigns responsibilities understands and reports on financial indicators and project metrics monitors and summarizes progress of projects)
o Integrates quality and financial data (internal) with background information (regulations outside opportunities) and ensures execution of business plans
o Drafts meeting agendas and writes minutes of important meetings
o Ensures newly implemented plans are revisited on a regular basis to create quality improvement cycles
Operations and transparency:
� Ensures continuous functioning of perioperative dashboards with key metrics
� Tracks and ensures accuracy of information on the dashboards together with IT and those creating data sets
� Ensures strategic and efficiency activities run from and through the strategic and efficiency working groups
Governance:
� Distills synopsis of perioperative executive leadership�s vision/strategy to Lifespan leadership (CCO CSO CFO CEO Lifespan)
� Aligns the various operational bodies within the Perioperative Service Line (Executive leadership strategy committees system alignment committee) ensuring awareness with Executive Leadership of all important developments within the Perioperative Service Line
� Escalates projects in need of corrective action to Executive Leadership and recommends project/process improvements
� Ensures quarterly strategic volume discussions are planned and data collected in advance from chiefs and chairs to prepare for these meetings
� Is present and supports the Physician Alignment Committee with drafting agendas

QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:
Bachelor�s degree in related field required. Master�s degree in business management or finance preferred.
Certification as a Project Manager (PMP) required.
QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:
5 years of experience in project management with experience coordinating cross-functional business units and/or multidisciplinary project teams or the potential to thrive in such a professional role as is likely through previous work experience
Demonstrated understanding of workflow process and change management
Proven strategic insight and decision-making
Functional understanding of financial analytics and quality performance data
Experience in healthcare delivery environment is a prerequisite
Clinical background in perioperative services is a plus
Strong inter-personal leadership skills and a natural authority to align stakeholders and to influence and guide solutions
