General Summary
Technology Solutions is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to help guide technology-focused projects to successful completion. PM will work on concurrent projects with the technical responsibilities of managing the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases of a project. In addition, the project manager demonstrates the level of soft skills needed to build, guide and support the project team, while displaying a servant leadership attitude. The PM will bring a level of experience, flexibility in adapting PMI-regimented processes to our environment, and ideas to grow the value delivered by project managers to the University.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Direct, plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously by employing the appropriate project management framework and tools to create the best path to meet the intended business value and goals.
- Create and direct overall project management plans while managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and promote the health of the project throughout its lifecycle.
- Build and develop project teams to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met
- Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders by providing updates on project status and changes

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in technology, business administration, or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant project management experience or Master’s certification in Project Management
- Two (2) years of full-time work experience as part of an IT or technology organization
- Experience with project management methodologies and best practices
- Proven ability to complete projects through the full lifecycle according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working in a complex, matrix environment that requires flexibility and adaptability.
- Confident self-starter, capable of managing work and making decisions independently
- Have good understanding of IT development and integration practices, project infrastructure needs, testing and general application support needs
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Project Management, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
- Certificate in Project Management
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Other Project Management certifications
- Two years' experience in higher education administrative systems
Work Hours
Core Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday; occasional weekend and evening hours as business needs dictate

$62,500 - $85,000 annual, commensurate with education and experience

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions.
