A Bailey Systems Estimator is a client-facing sales position focused on a consultative approach; identifying and understanding customer business needs and working with Bailey’s team to design creative network infrastructure solutions. Excellent customer service skills, ability to follow through and to work as a team are essential.

*Preferred skills: Low Voltage Experience, Commercial Project Management, Commercial Estimating

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Functions:

· Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required (may result in travel on occasion).

· Perform Site survey at construction site, office building and structures that have Low Voltage

· Review Blueprints and be able to mark-up Blueprints (Bluebeam Revue) with low voltage pathways, cabling and devices

· Create quotes (QuoteWerks), Proposal’s (MS Word), and other OTC software applications

· Model solutions utilize electronic applications, including: Heat maps for Wi-Fi, camera coverage and zones for electronic security

· Perform take-off and estimating

· Develop new business relationships with area business owners, construction and electrical contractors, architects, school districts and municipal agencies

· Create/identify and review new opportunities to assess which projects provide Bailey with the best opportunity for success in our objectives

· Review construction project plans, requirements, drawings, and specifications, including instructions to bidders and scope of work.

· Nurture and grow existing partner and customer relationships

Skills, Knowledge, Education

Skills

· Ability to walk interior renovation projects and develop a scope of low voltage cabling work while working with designers and system architects to provide design build series for our clients.

· Ability to prepare material, labor, equipment and specialty cost estimates for our projects.

· Ability to analyze bid specifications, proposals, and other documentation.

· Attention to detail is imperative. Must be able to enter and review documentation to verify as complete and accurate.

· Ability to balance quantity of work with quality of work is important. Strong organization skills and ability to multi‐task is required.

· Reliability in completion of tasks is imperative.

· Must be self‐motivated, able to work independently.

· Must meet deadlines in a fast pace environment.

· Demonstrated competence in achieving corporate business/sales goals.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner with customers, co‐workers and managers.

· Courteous and polite phone manner, ability to be professional while working with customers, vendors and co‐workers while following existing policies and procedures.

· QuoteWerks

· Must be able to read, interpret and modify design drawings and electrical schedules.

· Familiar with construction trade sequencing and coordination

· Low-voltage electrical system take-off skill and experience

· Broad knowledge of Structured Cabling, fiber optics, CCTV, Audio-Visual, CCTV, Access Control and various other low voltage systems is ideal.

· Current driver’s license and good driving record

· Computer networking or telecommunications knowledge is a plus.

· Must have basic familiarity with computer hardware and software: MS Word, Excel, Outlook and general computer understanding.

Education/Experience * High School education or GED. Post‐secondary education a plus.

· Prior IT, Project Management, or Cable Technician education or experience is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
