We have a new opportunity for a Project Engineer. This position has the option to work from home or the office (Westminster, CA). The Project Engineer must be based out of Southern California because you will be required to report to the office or client sites for meetings and field walks, as required. In this role, you will work on various projects and in a collaborative multi-discipline environment. You will report into the Drive team which is responsible for project execution.

Compensation: $80,000-90,000 estimated annual salary - this may vary based on qualifications and location

Are you seeking a new a position as a Project Engineer? Do you have a passion for coordinating all technical activities on projects you are assigned? As a Project Engineer at Eichleay, your duties will involve planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating assigned engineering work. Your success will require effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants. You will work closely with assigned Project Managers for the projects which you support.

Additional Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Understand and apply Eichleay processes & procedures for project delivery.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, vendors, contractors, and all internal team members.
  • Ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants in a collaborative and productive manner and the requirements of the project are being satisfied.
  • Create meeting agendas, run internal and external meetings, record and publish meeting notes, action items and decision logs. Meetings may include weekly progress updates, model reviews, and technical reviews.
  • Create weekly / monthly client reports.
  • Work with discipline leads to develop Scope of Work (SOW) documents and establish budgets for proposals or next phase of work.
  • Recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist the Project Manager with budget monitoring and change management. Work with the disciplines for input to the trends and change order budgets.
  • Coordinate the permit process, development of the permit package and submittal to regulatory agencies.
  • Assist the Project Manager with schedule updates, progress measurements, and mitigation plans where required. May be required to assist with Interactive Planning Sessions (IAP)
  • Coordinate with the design and document control teams to create and issue squad checks, vendor documents, engineering documents, and construction work packages. Track deliverables by project phase.
  • Document lessons learned sessions and coordinate implementation into Eichleay’s database.
  • Coordinate field visits for project team members and participate as necessary.
  • Coordinate RFI responses.
  • Ensure that the projects are following Eichleay’s quality procedures.
  • Track and coordinate procurement packages with the procurement group.
  • Assist the Project Manager with preparation of technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the customer and management.
  • Learn how to use Company's in-house Project Management tool EMIS to run budget vs actual reports, create new proposal and projects, enter in change management, and input forecasts.
  • Assist with project closeout.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and five years or more of related engineering and/or construction experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful experience with planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating all technical aspects of projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with participating in client/contractor meetings and resolving project issues with client.
  • Ability to be badged for process safety management governed facilities, which require in depth drug screening.

Industry Experience / Requirements:

This role may require all or some of the following requirements (as applicable):

  • RSO Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
  • Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
  • TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain.
  • Client cGMP and Sterile Area Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
  • Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
  • Participation in random drug and alcohol program.
