The role provides leadership and direction to one or more major NPI or platform development program in the Semiconductor Chamber Solutions Division. The program manager works to ensure that the programs deliver to the Market Requirements Specification (MRS), following the Atlas Copco PCP process-on time, on budget and with quality.

The program manager will be responsible for maintaining the links between the future market requirements, the product roadmap, the enabling technology projects and the NPI project plans in the product companies.

The program manager will ensure the following:

• The developed product meets the agreed upon MRS
• Planned new product revenues can be realised
• Manufacturing capacity and capability are in place
• Product cost and quality targets are met
• Work closely with Global Product Managers to develop the product roadmap. A detailed understanding of the availability & readiness level of technology is required
• Active engagement with all leaders, stakeholders and sponsors will be key, as will active engagement with, and management of, his / her cross-functional project teams.
• Work with Product Managers and the Product Company teams to develop the Master Specification for new product projects. Fully embrace time-to-market initiatives to accelerate NPI, including use of new tools such as the agile front-end planning process.
• Work closely with Product Company Engineering Managers and Program Managers to ensure smooth execution and delivery of NPI programs on time, with quality and on budget. Ensuring the resources in the Product Companies are aligned with the overall portfolio of projects and have the correct skills and tools required to deliver the projects.

• Must be able to analyse complex program requirements and identify key phases and workstreams as part of high level program definition
• Well organised, displaying clear, rational and analytical approach to problem solving and planning
• Remains calm under pressure and has the ability to find creative and pragmatic solutions to seemingly intractable problems
• Willing to look for / explore new solutions or methods
• Flexibility to travel to multiple Edwards locations nationally and internationally on a regular basis
• Has the ability to communicate effectively at various organisational levels and with different cultures
• Displays clear leadership willing to take ownership and control of a situation and bring people with him/her even though they may not functionally report to him/her
• Ability to manage performance of 3rd party service providers, to ensure services provided give value for money

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Engineering, Science, or closely related discipline

• Recognised Project or Program Management certification desirable

Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to deliver large complex programs (business process or NPI) to closure, preferably in an industrial business
• Previous supervisory or functional management experience in one or more departments in an engineering / manufacturing company is desirable
