Job Summary: Works in conjunction with the Program Manager and Program Team to professionally plan and execute both complex Build-to-Print contracts and engineering design/development, qualification, and production programs requiring collaborative interface with both customers and key suppliers. Programs managed are generally characterized as complex, high-value, Build-to-Print, Design for Manufacture (DFM) or low complexity design to specification programs. Contracts can be Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, or Cost Plus, with a typical duration of >1 year. Proposal responsibilities include co-leading the preparation of multi-million-dollar proposals in response to high risk customer requests requiring significant engineering and management innovation to develop a low risk, yet competitive response to customer requirements. Assists in developing resource requirements for each managed program and coordinates with the Engineering Department Manager and other FES Department Managers for assignment to the programs. Develops new and follow-on business opportunities in coordination with supervisor/Department Manager; thinks creatively and openly contributes to the growth and development of company technology. Participates in industry meetings, events, and trade shows as directed and assists in the preparation of associated briefs and papers.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Coordinate projects and programs, to include: work breakdown structure development, financial and schedule planning, monthly ETC/EAC updates, earned value management, status reporting including monthly program reviews, customer interface, supplier interface, business development, resource (including personnel and materials) management at project/program level, risk identification, and mitigation planning, execution of contract requirements; proposal management, and development, inter-program and inter-department coordination, management and development of data items and other reporting for external customers and internal management.
Education: B.S. Degree, preferably in an Engineering or Technical Discipline.
Basic Qualifications: Must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States (no sponsorship). Background/Credit check is required. Must pass Drug/Alcohol Test administered in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Related Work Experience Required: Minimum of five years project management experience in a technical field.
Special Skills or Abilities Required: Management of technical projects based on customer contract requirements; experience with customer management, and development.
Additional Education/Experience/Skills Preferred: Adept with MS Office Suite, including MS Project; working knowledge and understanding of Earned Value Management Systems; experience in proposal preparation; experience in military/aerospace business environment; supervisory experience. Experience in the electronics industry and/or with electronic components is preferred.
