IFC is a leader in the Telecoms, Media, and Technology (CNGTT) sector in emerging markets. Since 2010, IFC has committed and mobilized over $6 billion for TMT projects. We support mobile network operators, particularly those in challenging and less-developed markets where the digital divide is particularly pronounced. We also finance digital infrastructure with a focus on shared infrastructure models like carrier-neutral, open-access broadband networks, independent tower operators and data centers. These shared infrastructure models are examples of the most cost-effective, competition-enabling and environmentally conscious solutions to the challenge of providing high-quality, affordable connectivity, a foundation of the digital economy. Investments are made across the capital structure including via equity, mezzanine, or senior debt instruments.
The responsibilities of the Program Assistant include but are not limited to:
Provide full administrative and logistical support, coordinate the schedule of meetings and appointments, and ensure effective time management.- Anticipate and ensure that relevant background materials are available for meetings, deadlines are met, documents are of high quality and adhere to administrative, confidentiality and operational guidelines.
- Plan and manage logistics (room reservations, AV/VC needs, catering) for meetings; supervise support services before and during meetings.
- Manage the teams' schedule of meetings and appointments, including logistical support for in person and online events, as well as travel schedule and arrangements.
- Support/update distributions list for the unit.
- Support the team in preparing materials for internal and external distribution, including the compilation of data.
- Ensure that all documents are of high quality and adhere to administrative operational guidelines (e.g., memos, reports, etc.) and that all necessary clearances have been obtained.
- Support as needed with maintaining CNGTT intranet corner and relevant KM work.
- Support with unit’s procurement needs (i.e., create requests for STCs and POs in Admin Portal, e Consultant, order supplies, SAP and other systems as needed).
- Support regional colleagues with Board submission as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement same within scope of responsibility.
- Backup ACS and other colleagues as needed.
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the IFC and the World Bank Group, its organization, policies and procedures, and willingness to learn more. This includes but not limited to knowledge of systems such as Travel, Admin Portal, TRS, LARs, Procurement, MS Teams, BOS, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, high-energy and proactivity.
- Reliability, resourcefulness, and flexibility.
- Strong attention to detail and to maintaining high quality standards.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of flexibility and demonstrated capacity to handle a variety of concurrent activities, judge priorities, seek guidance and take initiative in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent inter-cultural communications skills: ability to interact with staff at all levels and to build strong working relationships with counterparts across all departments and the World Bank Group.
- High degree of judgement, discretion, and diplomacy in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrates an ability to deal tactfully and effectively with contacts at all levels, both inside and outside of the corporation.
- Good computer skills; proficiency with various software technologies such as MS Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and other standard office productivity software.
- Excellent communications skills in English, both written and spoken; high proficiency in presentation, design, and revision.
- Language Preference: English Essential. French and/or Spanish considered an advantage.
