THIS IS A LIMITED TERM POSITION APPROVED FOR 12 MONTHS THAT MAY BE EXTENDED OR BECOME PERMANENT.
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by leading various projects that include streamlining business processes, increasing work efficiencies, analyzing current business practices to ensure compliance with state and federal mandates, and analyzing program data to make improvement recommendations.
The incumbent works under direction of the Healthcare Workforce Branch Chief.

Independently analyzes, evaluates, and provides recommendations on various programs evaluation and planning, system development, formulate procedures, creates program alternatives, and make recommendations on a broad spectrum of administrative program related issues. Acts as a project lead in various projects impacting the Healthcare Workforce Branch by planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and tracking all aspects of the projects. Develops project processes and objectives for assigned projects, performs analyses of issues including, but not limited to, compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations. Projects include system automation for various program areas such as the Registry Unit, Training Program Review Unit (TPRU), e-Learning Review Unit (e-LRU), and Nurse Home Administration Program (NHAP). The Registry Unit, TPRU, and ELRU, review applications for individuals and healthcare training programs related to Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA), Home Health Aides (HHAs), and Certified Hemodialysis Technicians (CHTs). The work includes processing initial applications, renewal, report of changes, continuing education, reciprocity, and many other types of applications. NHAP has oversight of all Nurse Home Administrator applications (initial, renewal, training requests, evaluation, and training). All programs are looking into system automation. As project lead, the incumbent closely works and collaborates with the Information Technology (IT) Division and system vendor to build business requirements, conduct user acceptance testing, verify issues and complications, works to resolve them, and acts as a liaison between HWB’s various units, programs, system vender and IT.
