Job description
Under the supervision of the Director of SSS and UB, the employee provides tutorial services to TRiO participants. Professional tutors work on an individual basis or in a small group sessions to answer questions on course content and to provide study strategies as a supplement to instruction.
SALARY: Associate degree earns $10.40, BS degree earns $18.92, and MS degree earns $23.59 per hour, not to exceed 19 hours per week.
Part-time positions are posted based on the possible availability of a future assignment which are sporadic and may not occur. Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and instructional needs of the College.
This position will be based initially at the Wallace Campus in Dothan.
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Experience working with low-income, first-generation clientele in a secondary or postsecondary educational setting is required.
Wallace Community College accepts applications for Part-Time Professional Tutor on a continuous basis, to fill morning, afternoon, evening needs at all College locations. However, it does not necessarily imply there are immediate openings.
4. Employment verification letter(s) verifying experience working with low-income, first-generation clientele in a secondary or postsecondary educational setting. Letter(s) must include employment dates and job title and be on official letterhead with an authorized personnel signature. If an employment verification cannot be obtained, i.e. business is no longer in operation, an applicant may submit a copy of appointment letters or contracts or pay stubs or W-2 forms to verify the minimum experience required.
5. Appropriate transcript identifying the applicant, institution, date degree conferred and verifying the applicant has received the minimum required Associate degree as outlined in the qualifications.
