Job Summary

Direct and manage plant floor operations with overall responsibilities for production, quality, and other production related activities. This position requires that the Production Supervisor to spend a significant amount of time on the production floor. In doing so, he/she will work with direct reports uncover opportunities for safety improvements, process improvement, improved downtime, reduce waste, cost reduction and quality enhancements all in a safe manner. This individual must develop, train manufacturing floor employees by mentoring developing and challenging them.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Commit to overall safety of the plant and procedures.

· Manage 3 Sr. coordinators and up to 50 employees across the shift.

· Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations.

· Increase production, assets capacity, reducing waste and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.

· Responsible for production output, product quality, reducing waste and on time shipping.

· Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.

· Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.

· Share a trusting relationship with work group and recruit, manage and develop the shift coordinators.

· Provide leadership and drive training initiatives for all shift employees.

· Develop future talent by coaching and mentoring direct reports.

· Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets, quality and safety.

· Conduct meetings with employees to communicate company goals, objectives, initiatives and progress to date.

· Manage, drive and assist continuous improvement programs.

SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING

§ Demonstrate and enforce all plant safety/housekeeping rules and procedures.

§ Lead emergency response actions.

§ Practice and demonstrate safe work methods and corrective follow-up.

§ Address unsafe conditions and unsafe acts by reporting and acting on Safety Hazards.

Assure that all employees are properly trained and up to date on training.

§ Assist with accident investigation and documentation.

§ Coordinate training and coaching activities.

§ Responsible for ensuring all materials are located in designated areas.

§ Support and promote all safety programs (S.A.F.E.).

QUALITY

§ Verify that products are being built to OD specifications.

§ Ensure quality audits are performed as required.

§ Responsible for all Team Members being properly trained and up to date on certifications.

§ Address quality and process issues with the Quality Manager for corrective action.

§ Segregate and disposition off quality materials in a timely manner.

§ Ensure production data is entered accurately.

§ Validate all labeling and storage procedures are followed.

PRODUCTIVITY

§ Responsible for consistently completing the 5 non-negotiables; Empowered work, Standard work, Productive work, Shift change, and Lean boards.

§ Monitor and address schedule adherence and activation.

§ Define and address process flow issues within each area and across the plant.

§ Strive to achieve production targets.

§ Identify, report, and eliminate all sources of waste (D.O.W.N.T.I.M.E).

COMMUNICATION

§ Responsible for productive communication within the shift and during shift change.

§ Ensure team members are aware of production targets.

§ Communicate team member progress towards production target by consistently using lean boards throughout the shift.

§ Maintain confidentiality of team member information.

LEADERSHIP

§ Consistently support, defend, and comply to company policy.

§ Responsible for initiating disciplinary action when company policies are violated using the warnings sheet, Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), or Cultural Development Review (CDR).

§ Collaborate with team leaders and members to achieve impactful results.

§ Work together to achieve a common goal and support our core values.

§ Mentor future leaders.

Education and Experience:

§ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

§ Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business preferred

§ Minimum of 4 years experience in plant environment.

Travel:

Business travel as needed up to 5%.

Work Environment:

This job operates in on the plant floor. Based on job description, the role will either use standard office equipment or equipment as specified on the plant floor to produce the products for the company. Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands and arms during shifts; handle, or feel objects, manufacturing physical tools or controls; climb up and down stairs; balance; effective verbal communication; the ability to respond quickly to sounds and instructions. Lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly and those weighing up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
