Basic Function
This position supervises the production operators to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the processes and production systems at the Allentown site. The supervisor will ensure all operational excellence standards and life critical procedures are followed. They will also ensure that the optimum operating conditions are maintained to produce high quality products to increase customer satisfaction. They will be responsible for the development and training of production operators to increase skills and knowledge.
This position will work 3rd shift with a schedule that runs 6:30 pm – 2:30 am; Monday through Friday. Some overtime and/ or weekend work may be necessary.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Accountable for developing a high performing shift team and developing individual operators skills and abilities, including discipline when appropriate.
- Collaborates with process specialists, other supervisors in each area, and management to ensure operations of the site meet the business and site objectives.
- Maintains knowledge of site and company procedures, equipment, and personnel to meet the objectives of the area including operations, safety, environmental, maintenance and quality performance.
- Interfaces with the maintenance personnel on maintenance execution and outages.
- Collaborates with other supervisors, specialists, and others to investigate and implement solutions for any corrective actions needed
- Collaborates with other supervisors to train and evaluate operator performance. Ensures that policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are followed.
- Responsible to help set up each shift for success by looking ahead on the production schedule and setting systems up as much as possible ahead of time.
- Accountability for housekeeping and accurate completion of operating discipline documentation.
- Accountable for following the company code of conduct policy and ensuring all production operators do as well.
- All other duties as assigned by management
Min. Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years leadership experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees and all departments within
- Leadership, coaching and supervision skills are required.
- The individual should work well in a team atmosphere and show ability to develop and lead teams.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
