Overview:

Turbopower, LLC (“Turbopower” or the “Company”) is a rapidly growing provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for gas turbine engines, auxiliary power units and component parts to military and commercial customers worldwide. The Company primarily services the Pratt & Whitney PT6 and Rolls-Royce T56 engines and holds numerous quality and customer certifications, including FAA/EASA Part 145 repair station and Rolls-Royce Authorized Maintenance Center certification. Turbopower operates out of a state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot facility with on-site engine test cells. Turbopower is an affiliate of Battle Investment Group, LLC and is based in Miami, FL.

Turbopower is majority-owned and supported by Battle Investment Group (“Battle Group”), a private investment management firm focused on the long-term expansion and success of enterprises and management teams operating in the North American aerospace and defense sectors. Battle Group is interested in capitalizing the Company’s future growth and success to include (a) significant investment in capacity expansion, (b) driving business development initiatives, (c) expanding operational capabilities, and (d) acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success working in DoD and foreign military as well as U.S. and foreign Civil ecosystems as a business development and sales professional, with strong interpersonal skills, a retained network of decisionmaker relationships and a demonstrated working knowledge of fixed-wing and rotary aircraft propulsion systems application principles.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This key position will be responsible for overseeing the production processes and managing the personnel in the Accessory & APU department. The manager will be tasked with ensuring that the production schedule meets or exceeds customer requirements, improve productivity and efficiency and ensure a high level of quality is maintained within the established timeline and budget while adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Thru P&L management, help plan and manage shop’s output on daily, weekly, and monthly basis to meet or exceed budgeted Revenue and Gross Margin targets. This teammate will lead operations thru daily Gemba, Kaizens, VSM, process improvements, 6 Sigma projects, and daily CI mindset.

Responsible for leading teams and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication, while also contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans and goals for the organization.

Coordinate with Production Control and Purchasing teams to manage priorities for work in process. Participate in daily meetings regarding work scopes and present relevant product information on requirements, time and cycles, and parts requirements.

Ensure safety in all areas of responsibility, oversee maintenance and repair work, identify areas of improvement, and improve processes, communication (SQDIP) boards, and visual shop management.

Provide reports and solutions with Purchasing team & COO (Chief Operating Officer) on significant events (e.g., parts defects, delays) and activities for the programs.

Identify the “critical path” within the Work Orders (WO) and ensure all departments focus on these points to include established due dates and pending items.

Develop systems and continuous improvement processes that tracks and optimizes productivity and standards, metrics, and overall company performance by using principles of Operational Excellence.

Monitor and report company performance against contract requirements. Ensure all activities within the Production operations comply with company policy and industry standards. This reporting will be provided to the management team on a weekly or as needed depending on contract requirements.

Plan and execute NPI (New Product Intro) in sync with Sales team, as part of company’s organic growth strategy.

Perform all other similar or related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Five years’ experience in Production/Operations Management and/or Operations Program Management within a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul aerospace environment. Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • Powerplant strongly desired
  • Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate required.
  • LEAN practitioner strongly preferred: always looking for more efficient methods to complete work at the organizational and individual level.
  • Full MS 365 capability in Excel, Project, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Working knowledge of CRM (customer relationship management) and ERP/MRP

  • Gas turbine engine operation and technical acumen

  • Effectively use all available systems to manage assigned accounts (workflow management, quoting, account reporting, etc.)
  • Understanding of financial reporting and metrics

PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • The primary work environment is a standard office and MRO shop setting.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel will be minimal but may be required from time to time and will be performed in accordance with Turbopower’s travel policies.

Basic Schedule:

7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday, additional time as needed.
